Honey and Cheese? Yes, please!

As many of our members know, the 2024 fresh grocery distribution has included some non-produce items. If you haven't collected your bag, or just weren't paying attention, we're super excited that Dundee Fresh Grocery Inc has been able to include cheese with our distribution items. And as a matter of fact, this week's distribution is expanding on that!

More than veggies

So far this 2024 distribution year, Dundee Fresh Grocery Inc has been able to include locally produced cheese in our bags of fresh groceries. We were first able to provide cheese from Crosswinds Farm and Creamery, with which some of our beneficiaries said they made the most delicious macaroni and cheese. A few weeks later, we were able to add locally made cheese from Shtayburne Farm Creamery also delicious in macaroni and cheese or other cheese-centered dishes.

Now, we're extremely excited to announce that the October 4th and 5th distributions will include cheese from Lively Run Goat Dairy and Wixson Honey's fall flower honey.

Honey and cheese? Yes, please!

How'd we get cheese and honey?

This project was made possible with funding through the Yates Community Endowment at Rochester Area Community Foundation. We also couldn't do it without our many community volunteers that have come forward to support our town.

Dundee Fresh Grocery Inc is working hard towards the goal of opening a storefront location in the village of Dundee to provide fresh produce and other perishables to our community.
